Some of our party had trouble accessing their rooms with the key cards, For an international hotel you would think staff on reception would have some basic knowledge of other languages, Charged all our party for breakfasts that we did not order or have and then seemed not to understand or didn't want to so we could not rectify before having to leave for our train, was woken by very loud drilling and hammering
A good budget option for a city break or stopover. Rooms functional, excellent bed, very good sound-proofing from the road and railways outside. A good breakfast selection. Secure parking garage in the basement (€12) is an unexpected bonus, although access for larger cars is tight. If there had been tea-making facilities in the room I would have rated as 5 stars.
It was a short stay in Nantes (unfortunately). The hotel is very well located in the city center. It could be difficult to access with car at pic hours. Everything was great during my stay, delicious breakfast.
The hotel is situated in an ideal location; very close to train station and town centre without being too noisy; rooms were clean and staff friendly but I found the size of the room too small and the breakfast average for its price.
This Ibis is very well placed for visiting the centre of Nantes on foot. The car park is a major bonus (at 9 euros a day) and everything works well. Rooms on the back are quiet, breakfast was plentiful and staff were welcoming and professional.
Stayed here for 2 nights at the time of the Rendezvous de L'Erdre festival (RDV). Friendly welcome and service and quite acceptable (continental) breakfast buffet including fruit, yogurt, cereals, cheese and ham. Close to downtown and Chateau by taking bridge over rail tracks perhaps 50 m from entrance. Walk to station somewhat further (200-250 m est.) but quite doable at least absent rain. Lieu Unique is along the way for those interested in a temporary diversion. Quite practical and would return!
We would have appreciated if hotel staff would have informed us after check in (or after having asked for a map of the city at the latest) on what is the best way to get to the old city by walking. This is not so easy because of train and car ways etc cannot be crossed by walking on a distance of several hundreds of meters in front of the hotel.
Great accommodation and hospitality! The staff are very friendly, breakfast ok, with many varieties. You can go easily walk everywhere in town. The hotel is very near the train station, you can go walking too.
Only stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The location was just right for our needs. Hotel had secure parking at a reasonable rate. Friendly reception staff. Room was simple but met all our requirements for the night. Well located for walking around Nantes and easy to find. Good value.
This is ordinarily an average economy hotel. However on this visit the hotel reception area was undergoing a refit and therefore there was noise and dust much in evidence. The seating area for guests in the reception area was out of action. The staff were doing their best to manage but there was little in the way of an apology from the staff about the lack of facilities. The bar area was effectively out of action and to print my bill at reception the computer and printer had to be uncovered. This was not the hotel's finest hour, but if asked would I stay there again, yes. The hotel is convenient to the airport bus service and also the rail station. it is also close to the centre of town. The weekday rates are a bit steep for what you get, but the weekend rates (which is when I am usually in Nantes) are more affordable
This Ibis Hotel is easy to find from the Nantes SNCF station if you have a basic map, it is about a 10 minute walk away. Hotel staff were very helpful and the room was basic but has all you need. There is a computer in the lobby for the use of guests & WiFi is free. We ate in the restaurant the first night & I had the best Fish & Chips ever - the fish was fresh & the breading crust light & perfect, I even ate some fries & they were good. The location is excellent for seeing the Chateau & the old town on foot. We rented a car & found it easy to navigate the local area.
I just spent 5 nights at the 5th floor of the hotel and it was a good experience. Its location can't be any better - 10 mins walk (with a luggage and a backpack tagging along) to the train station, opposite the "happening" city centre, beautiful Chateau and big garden; the tranquil river promenade, Carrefour, post office and pharmacy are just round the corner behind the hotel. Though the breakfast is basic, the coffee machine dishes out great coffee. Being a city dweller, the little rumbling of the trains in the evening does not bother me at all. Wifi speed in the room is fast too.
Hotel comfortable. Breakfast buffet quite good but a little limited. The only issue was the noise of freight trains outside our window in the middle of the night - the downside of having a view over to the Chateau. Very convenient to the historic centre but you do have to cross over the railway lines by a footbridge
I found the room and service very good, as well as the location and price. The only thing I would suggest for improvement is the breakfast. You could have more fresh fruit and cheese every morning. Otherwise excellent.
An excellent two star hotel, our bathroom was particularly well appointed and the hotel is situated close to the city centre and the trams. also handy for many good restaurants. i would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone stopping over in Nantes.
We picked this at random as a center city hotel to explore the downtown. It worked out great. Location is across the tramline from the old city city (Cathedral & Castlel, various lovely squares & cafes, etc.). There are other alternate hotels actually in the old city, but how you'd get to them by car (the area seems to be mostly pedestrianised) is not obvious. This seemed to be the great advantage of this IBIS Gare - it had accessible parking right under the hotel (approach by going around the corner). So, it was very close to the action & had this accessible overnight parking). Service, room & genearl ambience was excellent as well - and, it served us the best range of continental breakfast, I've seen anywhere - including all types of pancakes, meats, croissants, yogurts, jams, etc. Overall, we had a very good experience here.
The location is good, but the rooms have a small window which does not let much light in. The services are average. Laundry service would help improving long stays. One more suggestion for your review: what's the point of asking for more than 200 characters? I think that it turns off many clients to share their true feelings about their stay! You should remove with silly condition.
The room was small but adequate and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. The only minus was the room temperature. The outside temperature was 26C so the room was very hot having had the sun shine in on it all day. It seems that they couldn't put the air conditioning on as they had only just switched off the heating the previous day. We had to sleep with the window open which made it quite noisy.
