Brive itself was a pleasant surprise cute old town and good shopping. The hotel is on the older side but still comfy within IBIS standards. Bathroom was adequate but it might be worth mentioning in all the IBIS hotels in France you get a shower gel and hand soap but not the little shampoo and conditioners although the shower gel is for face, body and shampoo. The staff were very nice but the floor was not quite as clean as most IBIS's. We stayed here for just a over night stop and found it very adequate. The center where restaurants and shops are located is a minute walk around the corner.
This hotel is in a superb location for wandering the lanes in Brive. The staff were extremely helpful and gave us good recomendations for restaurants, one of which we tried and had a lovely meal. On the negative side the room we were given was the smallest Ibis we have ever stayed in. In fact there apeared to be more room in the bathroom. It was sold as a double beded room when in fact it would have been Tiny as a single. I hope the other rooms at the hotel are larger.
Air conditioning not working when temperature was over 27 degrees Poor choice of breakfast at very expensive price Badly maintained outside with dying plants in flower pots by front of building Room too small for price, one chair, + one folding chair with no space to open it!
This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It is easy to find, conveniently located, just a short walk from the town centre with extremely comfortable beds. Great breakfast too. The bathrooms are looking a bit tired but otherwise it's a great hotel for just one or two nights
A short distance from the motorway and a short walk into the town for our evening meal. Parking is over the road. An older style of building with a very small lift. Ideal for what we wanted. Staff pleasant and breakfast as standard.
Close to some great restaurants like 'la cremaillaire'. The rooms are comfortable though not all have modern bathrooms. The windows could use some nettings to avoid having the curtains closed during the day (rooms overlook main street)
My wife and I had a great time in Brive - it was really just a stopover but we are determined to come again. Shopping was good, as was the great walks we had and the weather was perfect. We booked well in advance so the cost was very reasonable. We fully recommend a stopover for at least foe a couple of nights.
Close to the centre of Brive so not far to find restaurants and bars, etc. Parking is free, but by no means secure - do not leave valuables in your car! Room was large with standard Ibis fittings - bed comfortable. Breakfast OK. For the money, it was good value.
The room we had was stunning. It looked like it had been recently renovated. The big disappointment was the bathroom. It had not been finished and around the shower plasterboard was evident and it should have been tiled. The area itself is lovely.
Great location, rooms need renovating, heating not very efficient and so on a December night took a very long time to get to a suitable temperature.Car parking separate but in front of hotel, secure enough
Typical town centre hotel, a bit tired, floor not that clean, tired bathroom, fairly cramped room/bathroom, sirens at night followed by bin men in the morning. Good wifi. Easy walk to town centre. Car park is actually a public car park across the road, but it was well lit and didn't seem to be a problem. Glad we had sat nav to find it - it's on a one-way system.
