The shower had LOTS of mold and mildew growing in the grout and sealant of the doors. The climate control system was ineffective, making the room very hot. The panel of the climate control had a blinking light that kept us up all night. My colleagues had the same experience and we determined that hanging a jacket over it blocked the light most effectively. Both the sink and shower soap dispensers went dry and we had to ask the maid for more both times. Otherwise, it was OK.
I was back at this hotel after one year - the hotel is definitely improved. I had a good room, perfectly insulated from outside noise, and with comfortable bed. The bathroom was good too. Breakfast is excellent, with a lot of choices. Staff are helpful and friendly.
This hotel is great for those who want to visit Vienna. It is also close to an area of shops. I came back here after 10 years, things are changed, but the hotel and staff charm is the same. Staff help you with anything. Breakfast is great, rich and with a wide variety of products. The only negative aspect is that the hotel bar smokes, as in many bars in Vienna.
Stay and breakfast were very good. Very clean, comfortable, spacious, tidy. I recommend it. I loved the breakfast as well. Many lifts. Good reception. We had a place to leave our bags after check out while we touristed around.
Basic hotel but clean and has everything you need. Close to walking street and easy walk to down town or close to Underground if that is what you would prefer. Very comfortable beds and good view from 12th floor where we were.
Very well placed - located in walking distance to Maria Hilfestrasse shopping street & Schonbrun (although there is nothing interesting on the way) A lot of pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, shops nearby Metro station very close Breakfast good quality & diverse Room - travelling with 1 kid & 1 toddler - the room was "sufficient" for a weekend. We had a great 10th floor panorama over half of Vienna Good value for money
Our stay in Vienna lasted only two nights, but it was enough to explore the city's major attractions and feel its climate. Hotel Ibis Wien Mariahilf was our safe harbour where we could refresh after long and interesting trips. Professional service, modern interior, cozy rooms perfectly complemented our stay.
Exceptional nice and helpful desk staff. Maid service perfect. Rooms very practical layout and good beds. Great location, public transportation at front door. Air conditioning system does not work well, and it's flashing control panel light is annoying.especially at night.
We travel 2 to 3 times a year and since 2012 we have always booked Ibis through Accor In Vienna, Budapest & Bregenz. This time from Sunday 7 to 8 May we would extend our stay by 1 day and paid more than 30% than our son for the same, despite our ACCOR & our son's NOT ACCOR! It's useless !!!!!!!!!!!! Motel 1 is better!
I'm, my wife and granddaughter 11 years old. Everything was fine. The room is clean, linen and towels are without claims. The staff is friendly. The location of the hotel is very good. There are wishes: Too soft pillows, I was very uncomfortable. If in room there was the smallest refrigerator - it would be magnificent. Breakfast is quite expensive. I would like a little cheaper. Rejected. However, that's all small cavils, hotel quite corresponds to the price category. Many thanks.
The hotel is located near the WestBahnhof and because that is a little bit noisy. The rooms are big, modern and clean. The breakfast was excelent! The staff was very kind and helpfull. We had a great time in the hotel!
Good breakfast, great access to city center and main attractions of the city, half an hour distyance to St . Stephan's cathedral and the rest of attractions by using subway U3.5 minutes walk to main train station of western Vienna. 5 minutes walk to Mariahilf street which is a the biggest shopping street in Vienna.
Vienna is very beautiful and elegant. There is something to see at every corner. Fortunately they have a very efficient underground which takes you anywhere in a very short time and it is not expensive unlike anything else. Also all instructions/directions are in German and they seem to lack signposts to the various locations. All in all it was a heavenly week.
This is a very good hotel, with a very good location with good communications. Close to the shopping area at pedestrian distance. The service is good. The staff is very polite. The price is reasonable. Unfortunately, it is too noisy. The traffic does not stop all night.
What I liked best of all: good location near the shopping street, large rooms with air conditioning, comfortable beds, television with more than 70 channels. What could be better: wi-fi, choice of food for breakfast, acoustic protection of rooms.
The has a good location but the need a safe box . The hotel was very busy when I was staying and breakfast area was small for large numbers and you have to wait for more ten minutes to go down or up during morning time
This was not my first stay at this hotel. Since this is very close to all the places I have to visit during my stay in Vienna (in the neighbourhood of Westbahnhof train station) I stay either here of at Mercure Westbahnhof, even if I do not come by train. This area is a very good starting point to reach everything within minutes by the underground. Mariahilfer shopping street is just a few steps away. Unfortunately the station itself is less significant now since the new Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) offers more connections and quite a few trains do not stop here any more. I regret I have forgotten my previous stay here in winter when I found the rooms too cold for me. There is some kind of air conditioning in the room but it blows only cold air into the room even if the temperature is about 21-22 degrees and you would like more especially if you have to stay in your room longer or in the morning after your shower. When I complained about it at the reception (even twice), asking about what to do, the answer was: „I see.” So the only thing you can do about air condition is to switch it off. The room and the breakfast are average Ibis standard. The breakfast room is not small but very often overcrowded. A warning for my fellow travellers: if you want online check-in think twice about online check-out because here the hotel charges your credit card 30 Euros per person and night, which I find odd, especially if you have paid for everything beforehand and then your credit card was already used and charged. By the way, though I had online check-in I had to go through the same procedure as if I hadn’t. (Which was not the case in other countries where the key really was waiting for me at a special online check-in corner of the reception and no extra credit card blocking because of the online check-ot.) The rates and the locations are still very attractive but I will probably try next time the recently renovated Mercure Raphael, just a few meters further down the street.
This is my staple hotel in Vienna. It does not get any better for the price. Excellent large room, very functional, super comfortable bed and great and flexible service throughout. Offer of "small breakfast" if you are out of regular breakfast time is simply excellent. Perfect central location as well.
Nice locations, very clean, staf is friendly, evrything is very clouse , tram stops Uban stops is very near,Bar, and resorants, evrything is near to the hotel, shopin street Mariahilferstrasse is just 100 meters
I came with my friend for 2 nights, the hotel is not in the center of the city, we had to take the metro, we took the hotel because all other hotels were fully booked. The mattress wasn't comftrable and the room was dusty.
