Excellent hotel with very good restaurant. Staff always helpful and on this our 5th or 6th visit met Jack who was very helpful. Location to motorway is superb and parking is also convenient. Would return.
Good, quiet location, usual sized rooms, nice terrace, above average restaurant for Ibis standards. Good if you travel with dogs with great parks nearby. Friendly staff and a great check out service. No thrills but pleasant.
Conveniently located near the Autoroute, this hotel offers a comfortable overnight stop. But the best reason for choosing this hotel is the quality of the food. We have always been impressed by the choice of dishes on the set menu and the standard of cooking is excellent.
Usual small but functional & clean room. Surprizing good restaurant in terms of menu & value.Excellent location to town & motorway with good car park. A very pleasant & convenient stay on our way to Portugal.
Very good hotel. We stay here regulary to break our journey from South of France to St Malo. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good food in restaurant. Rooms quite small, but perfectly adequate for overnight stay.
Disappointing room compared to other ibis hotels we have stayed in, noisy air conditioning, small room the two seater bench could only seat one as it was under the table, the ensuit room was small. The noisy air conditioning resulted in a poor nights sleep which is probably the most important point of an overnight stay. On the plus side the restaurant was very good and the service throughout the hotel was good . I was expecting a better quality room as it was more expensive than the Ibis at Bordeaux Le lac which we stayed in on 2nd September. I would not be able to recommend this hotel owing to room quality
The hotel is well run with staff who were most obliging. We dined at the hotel on both evenings and we were pleased with the choice and quality. The hotel compares favourably with the previous best Ibis hotels we have stayed in and we look forward to a future visit.
The entrance and bar/restaurant area as you first came into the hotel looked promising. However the downstairs room we had was drab and tired looking. We had had a long drive and I really did not feel it a welcome or nice room to sleep. Cost wise we stayed in another hotel the next night paid about half the price and had first class room and service. Sorry would not recommend.
A very comfortable hotel ideal for accommodation as it is very close to the motorway, very friendly staff and the food was surprisingly good for such a small hotel, all very good value . The bedrooms were most comfortable and we had an excellent nights sleep
typical Ibis standard, very good for the value. Dog friendly, ground floor requested and received. The beer was excellent just what you need after a long day in the sadle. we look forward to next time.
We thought this was a very good Ibis, one of the best we have stayed in. The room was spacious and clean and the bed really comfortable. The restaurant offered a wide menu for dinner, as well as a good spread for breakfast.
Very disappointed to be told as we arrived at reception that the restaurant was not open on the Sunday for dinner. Apparently the restaurant is closed from Saturday mid-day. After a long journey we did not want to go out and find a restaurant. The receptionist told us we could eat in the Asian buffet restaurant opposite the hotel which is not what we wanted! The closure was not highlighted on your website when we booked.
I use the Ibis in Saintes as it is a convenient location from the motorway when travelling south through France. Hotel is old and tired. Rooms dated. Staff always polite and helpful. Restaurant rarely open.
Room very dated and cramped. Reception gave us a broken plastic door key (with the number unreadable) complained but was greeted with a shrug. Constant bedroom door slamming by guests leaving and arriving, presumably because of dated locking systems. Staff seemed uninterested in our patronage. Breakfast was being removed and tables laid up for lunch at 9.15am. Staff replenished boiled egg water with cold water, thereby ruining cooking times.
Ibis, Saintes. You get what you expect with Ibis- provided you have stayed with them before. If not then you get a very pleasant surprise. Excellent value, clean and simple. Comfortable bed, aircon, sound-proofed. Even a free takeaway coffee in the morning so you can hit the route. Hard to beat. Saintes is a gentle, beautiful French town. Good for ambling, bar- hopping and eating. A lovely stop-off point to areas further south.
This is our second stay at Ibis Saites. Previously we were pleased with everything. This time was a disappointment. When we arrived on a Saturday evening after a long drive we were told the restaurant was closed but Bar snacks available. But what a poor choice of expensive microwave meals. We ordered two Toasted sandwich which cost 9,95 euros each. We were presented with a halved sandwich each, that's one piece of bread each, stuck to the plate. We couldn't blame the receptionist. He was trying to deal with people checking in, ordering drinks, wanting food and a very leaky roof over the bar area. I think everyone who checked in was upset that the restaurant was closed. Otherwise the rooms are clean and tidy and our dog was welcomed although unlike other hotels we have stayed we had to pay for her stay too.
My wife and I have used this hotel for several years whilst en route from the UK to Spain and on our return back to the UK. Ibis Saintes has always been reasonably priced and on every occasion we have found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the rooms to be clean and tidy, the beds to be extremely comfortable and the hotel has ample car parking. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Clean, quiet, comfortable. Everything in the room worked. On-site parking. I found a spot right outside the front door, What more do you want for the price. Restaurant was adequate. I had difficulty finding the hotel as my sat nav took me to the road that runs along the side with no entrance from that road and I didn't see the sign and I had not read the directions on their web-site.
First visit since the hotel was revamped. Excellent all round - service, meals, cleanliness, reception and car parking. Good value. Would use this hotel again. Suggest IBIS upgrade all their hotels to Saintes standard.
I use the Ibis Saintes on my way to southern Spain. I also use the Ibis Valladolid. It's a pity to say when comparing the two, Saintes is not as good & costs much more. Expensive for what you get. The hotel looks tired and dated. Not sure why Ibis France should cost so much more than Spain.
