This is a very comfortable hotel that makes a great stopover as it is very close to the Motorway. We have stayed here on our way home from the Alps a couple of times. The hotel has its own restaurant but there are a couple of other restaurants nearby. It is also very close to a large Carrefour for stocking up on French goodies to bring home.
Have stayed here several times on way to Alps. It is an Ibis, clean rooms, helpful staff, comfortable beds and an adequate breakfast. Dinner menu OK but there are other restaurants nearby. On an area with commercial outlets, cheaper fuel if you need it
This is an Ibis hotel in an out of town shopping centre estate so it doesn't immediately look very attractive...however, it is an excellent hotel and perfect for an overnight stop. It is very well run with senior staff who have been there a very long time. It is spotlessly clean and fresh and regularly redecorated and updated. The restaurant is very good. We've been staying on our annual return trip from skiing for over 15 years. We like the Ibis chain for its good value, comfortable beds and generally nice accommodation. This is one of the best. Highly recommended!
A very clean and comfortable hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable. It is a very good hotel in it's price range. We have stayed at this Ibis many times on our way through France.
This is a lovely looking hotel - way better than the normal concrete box. Our room had a door and window to the extrerior with a little terrace over looking the pool. Corridors were also much better than the usual Ibis fare with a bigger room than other Ibis reds we have stayed in before. It also had an interesting evening buffet as well as the normal breakfast buffet.
Breakfast 0630 until 1000 but the staff were clearing and preparing lunch tables at 0900 making an intimidating and unfriendly.atmosphere. We felt we were overstaying our welcome. The food was good especially the dinner buffet.
We stopped at Ibis Macon Sud on our way back from Spain. The hotel was easy to find, clean and the room was very spacious. The staff were very helpful even though we do not speak much French. The food was lovely. We would definitely return.
The room looked OK. But the air conditioning didn't work, the fan motor worked all night but no cooling. The duvet was far too heavy for the season, the air temperature on arrival was in the high twenties and the duvet was almost 100 mm thick. The towels were thin, rough, old and no longer white - unpleasant to use. The restaurant service was bad, the food inedible and overcooked. The main menu item was not available - no apology - but the replacement was awful. The wine, though pleasant, was grossly overpriced. Check out service was poor. We had used this hotel before and decided to give it another chance - big mistake.
It ewas necessary to cancel our stay because of illness. Although I have been a regular user of this hotel (10 years plus) when cancelling I was curtly told there would be no rebate. I was not offered a change of date (I travelled 3 days later) and so used another facility. My understanding was that a loyalty card was exactly that and not an inflexible method of providing a small discount
Having been greeted with a smile and the offer of a complimentary drink (it was hot) we retired for a moment to what we come to expect at Macon, our usual immaculate room and found it cool, and thoroughly clean
Staff very pleasant with a warm welcome. The food was fine with a good choice of menu for dinner, breakfast had many choices with a good selection of food ,cereals, juices and beverages. The accommodation was clean and tidy and I would have no hesitation staying again.
Easy to find on a commerical centre site. Ideal for passing through on way to Alps or back. A good welcome when we arrived. Room best described as compact for a twin room but clean and tidy. Restaurant on site with OK menu but several others close by. Staff friendly at reception, restaurant and small bar. Carrefour hypermarket for cheap fuel and French items
An excellent stopping place on a long journey. A ground floor room ideal for my partially handicapped wife. Caring and helpful staff. A good varied menu with well cooked food well presented. We would stop here again.
Once again we have found this hotel to meet all our requirements. Indeed we can say we thought it better than our last visit. Service and staff top hole and no problems at all. I cannot fill 24 more characters...why ask me to!
This hotel met our requirements very satisfactorily, it is very conveniently situated for shopping and for exploring the wine villages of the Maconnais.. We were particularly impressed by the excellent breakfast.
We stayed at Ibis Macon in a room near to the swimming pool. Due to the door to the outside and the possibility to sit outside close to the pool, its a an acceptable room. However the room itselves is very small.
IBIS Macod Sud exceeded our expectations. Lovely helpful staff (they allowed us to store our bikes in a back room rather than leaving them on the car all night) and really good buffet style restaurant serving until 10.30 pm.
The hotel is in an excellent location just off the A6, and a good stopping point on your journey south, or for a couple of nights to explore the Beaujolais area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and we were very i9mpressed with the breakfast which is the best we've had in an Ibis. Free wi-fi, and helpful staff. The only downside was that it was very difficult to find in the middle of an enormous commercial zone, and the directions on the website were not helpful. We obviously drove in the wrong end. Come down the RN from the north, and you can't miss it.
The hotel was very clean, comfortable, the food was very good and I would recommend the hotel. The only fault was the man running the bar, he was hopeless and inefficient, he wants better training!!!!!
Good, clean hotel with nice rooms. Nice reception, good breakfast with bread, croissant, scrambled egg, pancakes (american style), crepes, cake, many yoghurts, 2 types of juice, milk and things to put on your bread.
