My dad and I stayed at the Ibis Strasbourg Centre Halles for one night in May 2013. I selected the hotel because it was considerably cheaper than other hotels (book at least 20 days in advance for crazy low rates), next to the city center (within easy walking distance of everything), and next to reasonably priced parking. The P2 Sebastopol garage is not affiliated with the hotel, but it is directly accessible and inexpensive. We were parked for about 15 hours (overnight) and charged 7 Euros. I believe 24 hours is 11 to 13 Euros. Before our arrival I requested two twin beds and a cathedral view, and this was swiftly confirmed for us (and delivered upon). I also asked for and received the helpful parking advice. Upon arrival, the young woman at reception gave us an excellent dinner recommendation. Her directions were spot on, and the meal was delicious. Our room was basic and compact, but the beds were very comfortable, and for the rate we paid we were extremely satisfied. The soap provided in all Ibis hotels is a liquid for hands, face, body, and hair. It's in a plastic tube - one hangs by the sink and the other in the shower. It reminded me of hand sanitizer and looks like something you'd find in a hospital rather than a hotel. Dad didn't mind it, but I preferred to use my own soap and shampoo. The breakfast in Strasbourg is very bread heavy (typically French), and the fruit is not very attractive, but we were satisfied. The attendants were absolutely friendly and very helpful. We ate and then left for a morning walk. When we came back a few hours later and ordered two cups of coffee, we expected to pay for them. Instead we were told they were still included. Very friendly service. Overall, this is an excellent value hotel with a friendly, helpful staff. I highly recommend it if you are staying one or two nights, have a car, and don't feel the need to pay for a more luxurious stay in Strasbourg.
