We chose this hotel as a night stopover en route south because it was close to and easily reached from the motorway. At 9pm we approached the motorway junction close to the hotel, only to find t was closed for roadwork repairs. In the dark, tired after a long drive, we struggled to find our way, took a wrong turn and ended up heading in the wrong direction. We finally reached the hotel at 10pm. What did we see in Reception? A large sign stating that the motorway junction had been closed for the previous ten nights, together with a very helpful little map showing how to get to the hotel during the roadworks. Great! We heard the gentleman at Reception on the telephone to someone else also lost trying to find the hotel. When I asked why the hotel management had not taken the trouble to pass on this information to all guests PRIOR TO THEIR ARRIVAL at the hotel, by text or email, the answer was a shrug of the shoulders. Just before 11pm the other lost travellers finally arrived at the hotel and, like us, were amazed the hotel management had made no effort to warn guests in advance, despite having telephone numbers and email addresses for us all. Someone from Ibis head office needs to read this and make a few strong comments to the management of this hotel.
