excellent location for a cty trip,10 minute walk to main eating square. Main attractions cathedral churches and shopping all also close by. Room quality was average, Hotel could do with a make over, Breakfast very good. Overall good value for money as you would exvpect in an Ibis hotel.
I made a mistake on the day of travel and was glad not to be charged for the error. Staff were very nice a credit to the the organisation. We have stayed nearly every year for thirty years and have always enjoyed our short stay .
I was refused breakfast because I did not have a Reservation! Like this is some five star restaurant! She told me she already prepared the croissants. She did not even let me buy a breakfast without croissants, not even just a coffee. The other aspects of the stay were fine. I slept well.
Good location at about five minutes walking to the city center. In front of the hotel there are eight places to park free (if you are lucky), or a paid parking nearby. Room is a little bit small. Internet does not work well. Personal is sympa.
We arrived at 21:00 and spent an hour trying to find a parking space. The staff were friendly. Pointed out where we could eat in town. Hotel is close to city centre. Great breakfast. Comfotable beds. Clean rooms. Good value.
Walls paper-thin. I was awoken several times in the middle of the night by neighbors leaving or entering their rooms. A panel in the bathroom ceiling fell down on my head. The shower curtain rod also fell down on my head, and there was no shower mat, causing me to slip. Ouch. Overpriced for what it is, and we could at least have had real soap in the bathroom instead of all-purpose shampoo from a much-used dispenser. Free internet connection was not functional, and the paid internet wasn't much better. I had to submit a business document online, and I couldn't do it with the connection at the hotel. Not a good choice for a business hotel.
clean and bed comfortable. Hurray, can open window! Quite easy to find with satnav. Parking facilities limited but able to park on street nearby. Within 10 minutes walk to town centre. Impressive cathedral.
One surly staff member was easily compensated for by the very busy but very pleasant waiter in the restaurant. Food was good though 8 €+ for aside of fries seemed excessive. Even in Paris I only paid 3. Great location near the water and the Magnificent Cathedral.
For the price, this was a nice hotel. The room had good use of space for storage. The bathroom was small, but not uncomfortable. The restaurant had good menu options, and although my roast chicken was a little dry, my boyfriend said his burger was the best he's ever had, anywhere! The free WiFi worked great. The location was quite a hike from the train station, and I was rather disappointed to find that they had another branch much closer to it. But walking to do sightseeing wasn't too far. The front desk attendant was very helpful in calling a taxi to take us back to the station when we left.
This is not the easiest location to find when arriving by car, and it was very difficult to find space to leave it while we checked in. The room and bathroom were just spacious enough for two people, but you don't choose Ibis for its wide open spaces. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was unfortunately ruined by the presence of two coach loads of tourists who cleared the buffet like locusts, which doubtless accounts for the person in charge of affairs being very grumpy when approached about the coffee machine needing attention. Parking is available in a (paying) underground area nearby. We have known better Ibis experiences elsewhere.
Metz is a nice city with the central cathedral as a top atraction with its glass stained windows by Marc Chagal - unfortunately very badly placed but nevertheless a visit worth. The market Saturday is a typical French market (indoor/outdoor) and the central square is then a nice lace for your breakfast - if thge weather permits. The Ibis Metz Centre is a good starting place. Less than 10 m walk from the center of Metz. The service is in top as well as cleanliness. Parking is difficult (but free - IF you can find a spot around). All in all - definitely a good starting point for your visit to Metz.
