Need a refurbishment. Hotel is very old, floor and bathroom quite dirty. Bed is confy enough. The restaurant is good quality and fast service. I had asked for a quiet room but got a room facing the main road even with my gold status.

This hotel is in dire need of an update. Everything appears worn. I had a much better stay the night before at Ibis Mulhouse Ile de Napoleon. The rooms and hall carpets have holes, the bathroom floor and tiles look old, under the bed had not been cleaned, there was still an empty bottle from a previous guest.

The Hotel Melun is conveniently located in the suburb of Paris, only one and a half hours away from the Charles de Gaul airport. It is in a quiet neighborhood next to major expressways. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Just after check in, I received an email from my credit card bank alerting me of fraudulent charges against my card. When I seek assistance from the desk, the manage, Ms Antony, generously lent me her cell phone to call my bank's US emergency number. Her kindness was very impressive and I shall never forget. The room was a good size, comfortable, quiet, and air conditioned. The dinner and breakfast were very good. Most of the guests appeared to be business traveling type, this is another indication of the hotel's popularity. We like this hotel and shall come back again.

Good reception and staff willing to fix your issues Good secure parking Breakfast ok but no eggs for cooking or boiling ( unlike Ibis Beauvais) Rooms ok, but needing freshening. Mirror in bathrom 027 was peeling. Service good, further investment needed.

Smile on face of receptionist. Ho hard is that... Smokers place at the entrance of the hotel. Who thinks that is a good idea? Our non smoking room smelled like an ashtray. When somebody complaints about that the reaction should be: Lets give you another room. Not: oh yes that happens

Stayed at this Ibis several times over ten years. It used to be good but it needs redecoration and refurbishment as it looks rather old and tired. The restaurant is acceptable but not open all week. Breakfast is very good. The car park security gate jammed shut when we wanted to leave and took 20 minutes to release. It is a symptom of the lack of maintenance and the need for refurbishment.

Proximity to motorway good. Sleep quality excellent but..... On arrival no restaurant open and nothing in the vicinity. Had to drive to find food after 10 hours driving from Spain. During stay toilet broke and despite informing reception it could not be fixed within the 15 minute promise. Had to use the public toilets. When we asked for the complementary stay the receptionist initially argued offering us free breakfast. My husband persisted - his French is considerably better than at first they thought it was - and eventually they did not charge us for the room as per IBIS policy. We should not have had to argue.

The bathroom was in terrible shape. Shower water ranged from warm to scalding - no cool or cold. A panel covering below the sink was broken and part sagging. There were several hairs and a variety of dirt on the floors. Every surface had a mark, ding, cigarette burn (in a non-smoking room), or discoloration/stain. The sink was oddly shaped. Outside the room there was evidence of a badly repaired water leak, and the walls and doors were extremely worn. The place looks run down from the google-street view photos - it gets much worse inside. The pluses - the bed was comfortable and the staff pleasant, but I would never stay again and have told Ibis that this one is hurting their brand badly.

We did not have a pleasant time. There were no elevators. Service was poor, staff not smiling or even trying to be helpful. Room is small with a small shower. Restaurant was closed on the day (and no offer to arrange something via delivery).

well I booked a triple and a twin room for 5 adults. they obviously don't do rooms with twin beds unlike the website posted. or a triple room like the website posted. as we where told we needed to buy another room. in very poor English. we explained that we had already paid for 5 adults and was not paying another penny. after about an hour the manager agreed to give us a room extra at no charge. But they shouldn't have advertised this room plan if they couldn't support it. The rooms where very smokey. and although I slept well it really was a poor hotel and I wont be staying there again.

I would like to emphasise that Ibis Hotels are normally our staple when travelling through France and this one is the exception rather than the rule. However, we planned to stay for 3 nights while visiting some attractions south of Paris and chose Melun as it is close to Vaux Le Vicomte. I broke my leg 3 weeks before the journey but we were confident that Ibis would have an accessible shower and a lift (all those we had stayed at previously did), so we decided to go anyway (we had booked on a non-refundable basis). We were given a room on the ground floor as there was no lift. All rooms had baths with shower over. The room we were allocated was designated non-smoking but was clearly not; the bed didn't fit in the space (and was like sleeping on the floor, it was so hard) and the window was 5ft from an 8ft hedge and overlooked by high-rise flats, the room was damp with a bulging ceiling. The décor was tatty. The toilet was so close to the wall that you couldn't sit on it. Basically it was terrible. The restaurant closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (we arrived on Sunday) - the best option we could find was a McDonalds. In fairness, I asked if we could change our room and after long negotiation, it was agreed. The resulting room was marginally better but only just. Breakfast was meagre. Evening meals overpriced with some items not available (our steaks arrived and the accompanying sauces and sides on the menu were not available). THIS Ibis really let us down. On the way back to the UK, we stopped at the Ibis in Boulogne, which we use regularly - it's great. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the beds are comfy; the décor kept fresh. Accor - you need to give Melun some TLC - it desperately needs it. We will think twice before booking an Ibis we are not familiar with in future.
