This ibis is located about four blocks from the Gare. My wife and I needed a room for the night Saturday and they had a vacancy. Ibis Lyon is not central to the ols part of the city, however the street cars are just three blocks away. The front desks speak English and breakfast is a best value. Remember Lyon has some of the best places to eat in France so don't expect anything close at the ibis.
Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was also close to Lyon Part-Dieu station which was useful for our needs. Breakfast choice was to Ibis's usual good standard and the staff were all friendly. The hotel is also close to restaurants and other amenities.
Although I booked the wrong date, the counter staff is happy to make the changes for me at the price difference booked and ensure that I had a place to stay overnight. He even share tips on where to get a local sim card and how to go about it. cosy restaurant and I had a great beef steak at very good price!! considering I am in france. It's about 10 minutes lugging the bag from the train station to the hotel, but still, not considered too far, near to carrefour city hypermart, where we bought all our needs and stuff at super good price. Considering the price of the hotel, great food and not too expensive, near to train station and supermarket, I would say it's a great place for a stop over.
We enjoyed it. And looking forward for another stay. I will surely recommend this to my friends. Overall stay was great and comfortable. But you can hear the noise outside the room. The place is just a bit far from the city.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even doing some printing of travel documents that I needed. They have streamlined check in and out which made it easy especially wiht a 1am arrival. room was very comfortable.
We used the hotel as a stop off point on our way to the South of France and had a very short stay. The hotel was in a good location and we were able to explore the city with ease. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and we were impressed with the restaurant.
Very convenient location about 400 yards from main station. Staff very friendly, and breakfast offered all the ingredients expected. Good control of room temperature, bed large and comfortable, and adequate TV coverage. Room totally silent in spite of its location on main roads. Only 2 areas of criticism: 1. Room doors are very heavy. 2. Soap is provided in plastic squeeze-bottles which are difficult to use.
Overall it is a nice hotel. The ratio between the price and what you get is good. Regardless, there is one flaw. The staff is great except for one person. This guy wears glasses. I was going to collect my bag to leave. There was nobody in the line, I was being attended and when he went for the key he turned his attention to 2 clients that were getting their bags too and that were after me in the line. They arrived later. He made me wait unnecessarily when I was the first one there. Very disrespectful. This guy doesn't make the hotel bad but be warned. If this guy is in charge for the checkout....good luck with that.
Arrived at the hotel on Sunday afternoon - nobody at the reception desk, had to wait for 2 minutes till someone arrives. Though I did an on-line check-in my card was not ready. I'm a silver member (entitle a welcome drink) - no drink was offered. The room is OK (ibis) not renovated recently, though the bed was very comfortable. the hotel is really near the main train station, so if yu need the train it's god, but it's a bit far from the city center and attractions (need to use the public transportation). Did an on-line check-out as well - warning - it seems that they're charging you automatically for the breakfast -(0€) though I didn't have any, saw only after leaving (when I got the invoice by mail), had to call the hotel in order to cancel it (and they did). It's a basic hotel with basic facilities, not the best ibis I've been to and not the best location (unless you need to be near the main train station).
For a one night stay hotel was perfectly adequate. Staff were welcoming and friendly and English is spoken. Breakfast was good, bathroom good, and everything clean. Window could be opened so no need to rely on air con for cooling. 2 things could have been better - newly installed wooden floating floors meant you could hear your neighbours' every single step and there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room.
We enjoyed our stay in Lyon. Ibis is ideally located for both the station and tramway. Also it is close to a major shopping centre (reportedly one of the largest in Europe). Our room was well provisioned with a comfortable bed and separate toilet and bathroom. We had breakfast one morning which offered an extensive range of food. Also one night we used the grill, which was very acceptable. The staff were well informed and amenable to changes in plan. Please note this establishment is located in Lyon's commercial district and is very quiet on a Saturday morning!
While this place is very conveniently located near the train station and helpful staff, the room was unclean and extremely hot. There was no working air conditioning and no tea or coffee making facilities.
Arrived at about 23h30 and proceeded to unpack after which we thought it would be good to have a relaxing night-cap (we had seen that the posters claiming the bar was open 24/7). We were somewhat surprised to discover that the sale of alcohol stops after 24h00. This is certainly not the impression given by the notices around the hotel. Apart from that minor gripe, the hotel being close to the station, was handy for our several rail trips. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well-maintained as well as providing a good night's sleep. Breakfast spread was to the usual good Ibis standard and included tortilla which is not always available (contra to Ibis advertising).
The hotel was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fairly simple but the food was good. Rooms are small but good beds. no handtowels only towels. Restaurant attached to the hotel was average.
Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Reception and bar area very bright and welcoming. Very convenient location for Part-Dieu Station and Rhone Express to airport. Felt very safe walking to and from hotel .
Service very good, staff friendly, polite and helpful. Our room was typical IBIS quality very clean and comfortable, and for us quiet. The food was good, especially dinner in the restaurant. Nothing to complain about at all.
Would have liked a non-slip mat in the shower. Appreciated having a restaurant in the hotel. Unfortunate that we had to change rooms at beginning of stay. Staff helpful and courteous. Convenient for public transport.
This is a standard Ibis hotel and they performed as I was expecting them to. Checking in went smooth, the room was clean and ecverything in it worked as expected. Room was a bit on the small side to be comfortable for longer stay , especially if your two people. The room was quiet of outside noise from busy street. The bed was comfortable. Wifi worked good enough for my iPhone and iPad. The breakfast was of standard continental type with everything looking fresh. Checking out also worked smootly. Overall a pleasant stay, and fulfilled everything of what I expect from an Ibis hotel
