plenty of free parking in huge lot shared by many main line shops including Auchan and McDonalds Hotel has a very good restraunt with extensive reasonably priced menu, however I was not allowed to charge the bill to the room nor was I able to charge a bottle of beer to the room, later in the Hotel bar.I awas imformed that people had left without paying in days gone by ,so this was the new policy..To use the credit card ---to pay for a beer every time was not to appealing,so I went to bed-a lot easier fpr the receptionist who doubled up a a bar person. In spite of this I would stay here again.

En route to Portugal. Good, comfortable, clean overnight stay at a reasonable price. The beds were very comfortable, facilities although basic had everything for an overnight stay. Next to an Auchan supermarket with a good restaurant attached. We did not eat at restaurant but bought food in supermarket for a snack as had eaten lunch time.

This hotel is a bit tired and lacks the usual ambienc and feel of an Ibis. The restaurant is a separate bistro with a linking door. The food was average, the staff lucky to be employed and the prices ridiculously poor value. A cloudy beer cost over 9 euros! Eat elsewhere if you stay here but handy for an overnight

it is a very good hotel with a very good restaurant. unfortunatly without a protected parking. Hotel has a very good service, room was clean and bed has a very good quality mattress. Quite environment and not far from city center and very close to a mall.

Great place to stay en-route South or North. Decent size, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with good selection of bakery products. Good parking and right next to a large Auchan supermarket. Good restaurant on site as well.

having arrived on one of the hottest days it was a surprise to find air conditioning had been fitted sine my last stay made stay very pleasant the restaurant has excellent food so no need to go hunting for others Also the receptionist has a fantastic hair style to go with her very helpful manner

My wife & I have stayed @ this hotel twice now as part of longer road trips into Southern Spain & would highly recommend. On both occasions Chatellerault was our first nights break after driving in from London so post 9 hours of travel time this hotel is nice & close to the autoroute in a quite town with an excellent little bar restaurant next door & a beautiful lake & park nearby ( perfect for walking the dog) there's also very large hypermarket across the car park. Very good hotel

Typical Ibis Hotel - Pleasant well kitted room within the price range in a good location in this town and for travelling through France. Only down side was receptionist on arrival had little knowledge of his town but was pleasant enough and otherwise helpful..

Stayed twice in 3 weeks on way to and back from holiday. First tine had dozens of dead flies fall from the curtains. Second time next to lift and room smelt of cigarettes.Dog in kitchen. Not impressed.

The hotel is well situated for driving through France. Just off the main drag, Staff very helpful, good resturant, Auchann supermarket next door for wine to bring home. No dislikes. Will use the hotel again next year when driving back to Portugal.

The hotel is about 3.5 kms from the city center. It has a brasserie and a big supermarket next to it. One of the persons at the reception was not exactly very polite. The shower did not worked properly.

Very comfortable room. But IBIS France is now expensive. IBIS Spain & Portugal are half the price of similar IBIS in France. Since the rebranding to Styles & Budget, most of the very good IBIS I had stayed in previously seem to be rebranded as budget. As such most have very limited food choice. Chatellerault is an exception with a good restaurant. But on the outward journey my wife had a faux fillet (very good elsewhere) which was thin and gristly and well done instead of medium rare as ordered. I had a good giant size ham hock with enough sauté potatoes to feed 3 or 4 people....nauseating at first glance. On return journey we both had good meals. On return journey we asked receptionist (at about 4pm) for a glass of white wine at the bar. She said no wine there and restaurant was closed so I had beer or soft drinks to choose. I said that was ridiculous and said I would go next door to Auchan to buy a bottle. She backed down very quickly & fetched 2 glasses of watery tasteless wine. Shall try Campanille in future

As you would normally expect from an Ibis Hotel - clean, comfortable. Restaurant attached which was average. Breakfast in Ibis Hotel was average and not as good as other Ibis Hotels we have stayed in - poor quality. Convenient as a stop over as easy to get back on the motorway.

Even as a stop over not very good . Cheaper accommodation back toward Future Scope . not a great town , especially on a Sunday , all closed a-la France , Welcome - none, information - none . 2.30pm laundry and room changing still filling the corridor. Room very basic. but clean . Restaurant attached hotel, pricey ! Super market next door closed Sun .Sleep quality poor due to external light, lighting up outside of hotel directly outside of window

The service provided by the excellent staff in this hotel made the stay even more enjoyable. Everyone we encountered (at check in & check out and in the restaurant) was professional, pleasant , upbeat & polite & they could not do enough for us. The service in reception was exceptional when, having left the hotel, I discovered I had lost my credit card. It was not found at the time but they continued to search and found it a day or so later. The after sales service was excellent too, as they not only kept the card secure until my return home but, they also ensured that it was posted back to me safely. I had occasion to deal with several people in this respect and all of them showed the same care, concern and exceptional customer service. Congratulations to them all - they are a great credit to the company and their contribution deserves to be acknowledged. As is so often the case, the enjoyment of one's stay is often down to the people we meet & how we are treated!

This hotel is a fairly standard Ibis. It is situated next to an enormous commercial centre dominated by a branch of Auchan. The on-site restaurant is La Taverne de Maitre Kanter. This offers a good selection of food in a fake beamed and brick room. We decided that we preferred the atmosphere and food in the Courtpaille chain which is also operated by Ibis hotels. Service in the restaurant was pleasant and efficient. Unfortunately the same could not be said about the main hotel. We went for a pre-dinner drink at 6pm only to find there was no draught beer in the hotel bar. Draught beer was available only in the restaurant bar which did not open until 7pm. We would not have objected to this had there not been a bar menu offering draught. To add insult to injury there was a large sign in reception advertising Happy Hour from 6pm when draught beer was available at 50cl for the price of 33cl. Obviously it would never be possible to take advantage of this offer. We have a dog and for him this was a good hotel. It is about 5 minutes walk away from Le Lac, a very large lake set in miles of parkland. This adjoins the Forest of Chatellerault and was a wonderful dog walking area.

When we arrived we had an excellent reception by the man on shift, but after a wash and brush-up the receptionist had changed to a female who was completely absorbed in her mobile! It took her several minutes to acknowledge our presence, as she had to finish her texting first! This happened again as we wanted drinks, and she stood in front of me texting for several minutes avoiding eye contact before asking what we wanted! An elderly couple had to wait for her to go outside for her coffee and phone break before serving, even though the manager arrived back only minutes later. Not the best reception! Apart from that, very nice!
