We arrived for the night before our ferry back to England but the car park was nearly full and as we have a car and trailer we were very worried. My husband went in to see if we could park where the coach parking is not only was the answer yes but the gentleman (we think his name is Romain) insisted on coming out to make sure I got parked okay. We had dinner in the restaurant and couldn't fault them for service or choice and as our dog could come to it was perfect unfortunately due to the hotel being full it was rather noisy but as this was due to guests slamming doors there wasn't anything the staff could do. We will be back hopefully sometime in November and thank you to the staff for being patient with my rather slow French.
Friendly and welcoming staff, clean and comfortable room, good breakfast. We needed somewhere to stay after leaving Ouistreham at 21.30 hours and this hotel, which we have used before suited our needs admirably.
This is a hotel that we use frequently. It is close to the port (Brittany Ferries0 and also close to the center of Caen. As a disabled person there are two problems. The entrance to the hotel need a drop curb so that there is easy access for a wheeled chair or scooter. The other problem is the bathroom in the limited mobility room. A walk in shower would be a wonderful addition.
The hotel met our requirements exactly. I will use the hotel again when travelling to France from UK. Guestrooms are dated and tired and would benefit from a refresh. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly and helpful.
We stayed overnight prior to catching the early morning ferry as the IBIS in ouistreham was not available. The hotel was very comfortable with friendly staff. The evening meal was fine and the hotel is only 15 mins to the ferry. Recommended
I've stayed at this Ibis on numerous occasions and have always found it good value for money, although it does need some modernisation. Old style door locks and baths rather than power showers are obsolete in other Ibis hotels, but service is friendly and the beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is really good as well.
Overall our stay here was pleasant but the rooms bathroom was the biggest let down, usually when i stay at an Ibis hotel the bathroom is a pod with a walk in shower, this bathroom was old and tired, to access the shower you had to climb over the side of the bath so getting in and out was quite a task, my wife injured her toe on one such occassion!. The hotel staff were pleasant and courteous at all times, the location was ok if you like city centres but suited us as it was central to all the areas that we wanted to visit.
Ibis Hotel upgraded from basic with great bedding. Very quiet location, secure free parking and very friendly staff. Great value reflects that some progress yet to be made in upgrading. If you need a stop over on you way to or from ferries you can't do better for value.
We'll sign-posted, large car park. Room bigger than most, bathroom dated but spotless. Reception cheerfuL and welcoming. Restaurant of high quality, waiting staff attentive and courteous. A very easy trip to reach the ferry at Ouistreham. Would strongly recommend this particular ibis hotel.
The hotel is now showing its age and is in urgent need of a refurbishment to keep up with similar hotels in the Ibis Group. An example of this is that there were no facilities to make tea or coffee during the day.
Normal stay here when arriving by evening ferry from uk just the right distance and location from the port also a good dog walking area (except for the rabbits which the dogs want to chase) lead required
Basic hotel located in the suburbs of Caen. Rooms could benefit from a thorough refurbishment. Staff is friendly and helpfull though. Breakfast is not generous but acceptable, everything you need is available.
Very quiet and comfortable one night stay. On arrival, at 10 pm, found the restaurant had been closed that evening; fortunately we did not need to eat, but it would have been very inconvenient if we had needed food. Is it not possible for the hotel to notify guests that there is no food available prior to arrival? This is not the first time we have stayed at this hotel and found on arrival the restaurant is closed.
We stayed 3 nights while visiting D-Day sights in the region. The hotel is in a nice quite are with free parking & a Carrefour Express only about 10 mins walk away. The staff were amazing, very friendly & seemed to be able to do all jobs. We ate in the restaurant & it got quite busy, even the chef was working the bar & seating people and it was all done with a smile. We would stay again & recommend to anybody.
This hotel is getting a little dated. The fixtures and fittings in the rooms are getting quite old and there is no aircon. However, the price reflects this I think. The bed was very comfortable, so no complaints. The receptionist had trouble understanding that I was a Silver customer even though I had a blue card. She gave us a token for a free drink which turned out to be just one drink between us! I asked for a glass of red wine and was brought some sort of red bleach type liquid, which had certainly never been wine! :-)
This hotel is great for traveling to and from the ferry ,very good area and ideal if traveling with pets as grass park surrounds (clear up after them) very helpful reception and comfortable beds.Just needs air con for the present hot weather
We stayed one night on arrival in France and 3 nights before returning home following holiday in Loire. Great position, but finding it in the dark first night without sat nav was not easy. Lovely hotel and with good safe car park. The rooms are not large, but adequate and clean, some updating necessary soon with carpets worn and new bath towels a little overdue . Restaurant is excellent for breakfast and dinner, good choice of meals. service is very good and staff although not talkative do a fine job. We had a room above the entrance which was a little noisy late night at times. We would have no hesitation in returning to stay their again
Friendly staff. Medium size room, but clean and a good bed. Bath room a little bit out-dated. Bus-stop (nr. 4) 100 meters from hotel to City Center. Normal room-price is a little expensive compared to other hotels.
Excellent customer service in an older style hotel where some facilities need modernisation ie bathroom and lift. The restaurant menus were very good and well presented. Due to smoking just outside the reception and restaurant areas often smoke could be smelt throughout the ground floor space
When we arrived tired after a long journey we were greeted with the news that the restaurant was closed. The one receptionist, running the whole hotel, was quite unwell and my wife offered her medicine as the doctors were on strike and the pharmacies closed. She was very helpful in finding a restaurant and providing maps of the area. The bedroom was adequate but had no tea making facilities and the bathroom had not been cleaned properly. There were long black hairs on the floor and in the bath. However the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was very good.
