I have stayed in in other Accor hotels in Colmar before. The other two were in the town centre and easy walking distance to the town centre and restaurants. The disadvantage of those is on street parking only or public car park. They also seemed older and smaller with no restaurant and very busy because of their location. This hotel by a small private airfield is totally different. Bigger and really nice rooms. Plenty of secure parking A restaurant serving good food and wine and much quieter and relaxed atmosphere. Even has pool if you what a dip. My only disappointment was we came home 5 days early and couldn't change the date so had to pay again for the new date
The ideal place to choose as the base for visiting/exploring Colmar, the Elsass and the Black Forest area on the German side. A hotel that provides all the needs for a traveller that wants to explore the area and also relax once done for the day. Bar and restaurant are available and there is no need to leave the hotel or drive (don't drink and drive) to a place to find what's in front of you. Personnel, accommodation and restaurant are very good. Only shortfall is that storage of personal items is limited and definitely not suitable for a longer stay. Improvement should be considered.
Perfect place to stay. Excellent price. New hotel.very clean. Perfect breakfast. Friendly staff. Secure parkingplace. Very comfortable beds. Enough choise at breakfast. Location of hotel is close to centre.
We stayed 3 nights at the Ibis Style Colmar Nord as a base for exploring Colmar and surrounding regions. The exterior appearance and surroundings (aerodrome) are not great but once inside this hotel is a real treat. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and public spaces are newly renovated and very comfortable. Buffet breakfast (included) was of a high standard and evening drinks were good value. The hotel has a restaurant (which we did not use) and there is also a Courtepaille close by and the centre of Colmar is less than 10 minutes by car.
Worst hotel of our 'Accor' trip around Europe. In an industrial estate next to the airport runway. It has 'recently' been converted from a Novotel - there is a plastic sheet draped over the Novotel sign ! The room was NOT as advertised / as per the photos on the Accor website. Good size room, but nothing in it but two single beds zipped together, and stools for children. We were told the renovations had been completed a few months ago - but there is exposed chipboard and construction debris lying everywhere. It looks like the construction company simply walked off the job before it was properly finished. The garden terrace was in poor condition - dirty paving, dead grass and plants. No lift, so bags had to be carried up the stairs - around the piles of laundry stacked in the entrance.
Conveniently situated just off motorway. Clean and value for money. Pool was welcome on a hot day and a reasonable meal on terrace made for a pleasant evening. Alongside small airport but was not invasive. Pleasant staff, secure parking.
Have stayed here on numerous occasions in the past with no issues, but the place was a mess - no where near customwer ready with massive refurb works underway. Room was still dusty, don't like the the new decor, very cold and stark and nothing matches. Not even a toilet roll holder on the wall yet - toilet rolls left on the floor! Had booked in advance for half-board but restaurant wasn't ready yet so had to eat eleswhere. Had already booked for May/June trip unfortunately so will have to go with it, will look elsewhere for July/August trip I think.
The hotel is old and not state of the art. The floor is durty and the toilet and bathroom have no ventilation. The reception does ot not spreak german and only 1 of 5 of the people speaks & understand english. .
We were there with my friends to attend a wedding and it was very convenient and close to the wedding venue. The room was nice and we got upgraded to a nice room in the main building which was very confortable and quiet. The swimming pool was nice and clean and it was very relaxing! The front desk staff was extremely friendly and gave us nice recommendations for dinner in the city centre which was a plus!
We stay there on our way to south France, Great location when traveling by car and very pet friendly. A must is to go to the hotels restaurant and have there excellent France version of a burger on the outdoor patio and see the sun set over the mountain to the west.
a few days before we were at novotel Luxembourg. That was great. Than we came to Novotel Colmar and our expectations weren't come true. I thought all Novotel hotels have an equal standard. This isn't so at Colmar. It is an old building and the atmosphere is not for being comfortable. The door of the house keeping women stood open all the time. It wasn't a nice view! The furniture at the restaurant was also old and the chairs were dirty.!!
Good quality stop-over on our way home to Belgium from Tuscany! Very friendly staff, safe parking space, close to the highway. Toilet in the room looked clean, but spread an unpleasant "urine smell"...
Clean and tidy, helpful staff. Only problem when we stayed was kids running along the corridor late at night and again in morning....parents please teach kids to respect other people's peace in hotels.
Hotel style is 1950's motel. Rooms good size, however entire hotel is very "tired". Close to Colmar airport, nice pool, internet is complimentary. Staff all extremely nice, breakfast buffet is decent Unfortunately, the helpfulness of the staff wont' make up for an old property. Rooms very very clean.
We have stayed at a number of Novotels across France & wherever possible book a superior room. You can rely on a high standard with the Novotel brand and whilst staff and food met our expectations we were a little disappointed with the actual room. When you consider a superior room is promoted to be able to accommodate a family of 4 the hanging area for clothes was only 15" wide and meant we had to leave items in the suitcases during our 4 day stop. The bed was so close to the wall on one side (about 6" of clearance) that you had to slide along the wall to get in and out of bed. Despite this, staff were helpful & sympathetic, but could not offer an alternative room .
Nice stay at Novotel, but you need a car to visit Colmar as the hotel is in an industrial site. Location is excellent for visits to lovely wine villages nearby. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and the pool was a great thing to have as the weather was 39C the day we arrived
Excellent first time experiance at this hotel after staying 3 nights. Rooms comfortable & clean, staff very friendly. Didnt have breakfast but dinner was great, ordered room service each night it arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. Will be returning April 2015.
Colmar's Christmas Markets should not be missed!! They were the best we saw this this year in Europe. This hotel is conveniently located to access both Colmar as well as the the small villages along the Route de Vin such as Riquewhir and Eguisheim.
On a very foggy and cold December night I was happy to arrive at Novotel Colmar. Even with sight limited to 50 meters it is super easy to find. The night was cold , snow and ice, but the reception at the Novotel was heart warming. A great place to take a rest. Car parking is free on the hotel secured premises. The breakfast buffet is very adequate to tap energy and to get ready for the next part of the trip. The room is standard Novotel, and it is about time to do some maintainance. For me a place to return and to see more of Colmar and the Alsace.
Good facilities within the hotel & the room. Hotel set in a quiet location next to the Airport & Retail/ Industrial area, room clean, breakfast good selection (Hot & Cold). Bed comfortable, good shower, free WiFi & free X-Box game in the foyer. Negatives - separate toilet (broom cupboard), walls quite thin so can hear people moving around/ leaving their rooms for breakfast.
