Okay hotel in city. Good parking. Large room but bed smaller than stated on reservation paper. Pool and restaurant/bar. Good food. Nice breakfast. English speaking staff. Xbox in foyer and other things to keep kids amused. Air con. Small but busy city. Bathroom had a shut up damp smell though.
Lovely stay...it's our second time and didn't disappoint. Lovely pool, decent sized rooms, good breakfast...our only complaint was the dinner, which was mediocre. But we'll stay here again and it's really comfortable, with parking and other amenities:)
This Ibis Styles is in a great location, situated in its own grounds with ample space to sit and eat outside. My only real negative relates to the bathroom,I am not keen on showers in flimsy baths. I much prefer the walk in showers that I have experienced in other Ibis Styles.
Great breakfast and comfy bed. only drawback is the location which is a bit 'out of town' but you can walk in fairly easily in 15-20 mins. Very modern design may not to be everyone's taste. Good to have shower gel provided.
Advantages of this hotel: Easily accessible by car, and has a decent, family-friendly restaurant that is not too expensive. Disadvantages of this hotel: Rooms a bit small (see below) and not that central. After driving into town and walking around, you'd probably want to stay at the other Ibis if you're interested in a central location. Problems that we had: We booked a room for 2 adults and two children. Initial we received a large room on the ground floor --- great, but it only had a double bed and a sofa bed. We went back to reception to ask for an additional bed and were told that this was not possible and that we would now be booked into a "proper" family room. The new room had two additional sofa beds for the kids, but was basically the size of a closet. And the lady at reception was inflexible about giving us the old room with a fourth bed. So, minus points here on customer service. They had also initially told us that the swimming pool could be used, but the same receptionist then told us that the health authorities had not yet approved the usage of the pool for 2015 (this was on May 22nd- May 23rd). So all in all, an okay experience, but family rooms too small and customer service poor.
Restaurant : not enough choice on the menu and décoration to improve. We expect local specialities and some more entrees. We ordered veal and it was Overcoocked Ambiance in the dining room would gain for dinner having table clothes.
Good clean hotel. Not quite the 15 minutes walk from center though. Overall cleanliness and service good. Breakfast was terrible. I have stayed at other Ibis Styles (last one was Strasbourg) where breakfast at least had a selection of edible items and real orange juice.
The modifications to the Styles have greatly improoved upon the pleasure that staying in this hotel provides. I was particulary impressed by the fact that each of the rooms doors nare numbered in brail and the floors at the top of stairsways are suitable maked to warn visually impaired guests. All of the staff are very professional friendly and helpfull.
I have been staying at this hotel for years whilst driving to and from Italy. The hotel is very pleasant, clean and staff are very helpful. The rooms are 'no frill' but more than adequate and there is very good parking.
Nice place, the rooms are confortable, clean and modern. Unfortunately, I didn't had the time to try the breakfast. I came by car, and it's always pleasant when you can park your car in the hotel, without to think to get a parking... and for free!
Besancon as a city was difficult to drive and travel around. The hotel is about 10 minutes drive out of the city. The hotel had a pool and nicely cared for gardens and lawns, creating a relaxed environment and atmosphere. The room was clean and modern. Staff somewhat friendly.
I am not very happy with my stay at this hotel. I check in and pay whole 2 nights, they forgot to code the key so, arriving to my room, impossible to get in. Back to reception ! The second day i came back with family to our room very late (midnight). We could not get into the room. Back to reception! They try to explain us at midnight that this is due to a computer error (despite the fact that i paid full 2 nights at check in. We discover that the room was not cleaned, the trash was not empty. Breakfast, personally i would like some eggs.
We used this hotel as a transit to go home... but maybe we will return in the summer! The room was very modern and clean. Breakfast was fantastic... even with fresh fruit juice, pancakes,... Maybe the possibility for a sauna had to be more visible.
I stayed in a family room for one night en-route from France back to the UK and found the IBIS styles hotel to be excellent value for money. The breakfast was particularly good and is included in the room price. The rooms are recently refurbished (at time of writing in Aug 2013) and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is a few km out of town so we chose to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant - it was great food and value for money. The only negative point I have to make is that while Wifi is included in the room price I found you had to continually re-connect to the service - when accessing on a phone -approx every 10 mins which could prove a little frustrating. Overall a good hotel and I'd stay there again.
A little bit off the beaten path from Luxembourg to Lyon on the way to the south, actually this is not a very long detour via the N57 (from Nancy) and A36 (from Dijon). Plus it avoids the busy highway between Nancy and Dijon. In any case, this was one of the best value for money hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in. Of course it's not a 5 star, but at 100 EUR for a family room (2 adults, 2 kids) with breakfast, free wifi and swimming pool (open late) included, all in a freshly styled and recently updated hotel, it would be difficult to ask for more. The hotel has a nice location, among some building blocks but in a very green area of the city. The public area of the hotel is very open and clean. There is plenty of parking as well. Also of note is how child-friendly it is, with a nice play corner near the reception and restaurant, and a small playground in the garden. Only minor nitpicking would be that the desert we ordered in the restaurant (panna cotta) was badly made (basically too sweet and it had shifted). But the rest of the food was very good (for the price - cheap). We will for sure consider staying here again on our way through to the south, or if we would be in the area of Besancon in the future.
Staff are a credit to the hotel, reception very good, room super, hotel grounds and surrounding area ideal for the hotel. The restaurant let our visit down with not having enough staff to cover the amount of people eating. Would still stay again in this hotel.
The hotel is very easy to access from highway. It is in reasonable short distance to the city center. It offers good service and is specially recommendable for families with children. It has a nice pool in a small garden. Next to the pool is a smalll playground for children. The prices are very attractive especially when travelling with kids.
For the amt paid, I was expecting a little more. Looks somewhat contempo. Restaurant was average. Shower did not have a full length glass (no shower curtain), so water goes out on the bathroom easily. Room is not carpeted. Overall it was good.
