Soak up the gentle lifestyle of Lausanne

Stroll through the old town
Experience the art of living Lausanne as you stroll through the downtown streets and let yourself be seduced by the many attractions of the cultural capital of the Canton of Vaud.
Go window-shopping on the Bahnhofstrasse
Wander the streets of Schipfe residential district. From the heights of Lindenhof park, you’ll have a scenic view of the lake and mountains – it’s the perfect setting for a picnic. From the banks of the Limmat, enjoy Zürich’s architecture: fountains, bridges, churches vying for supremacy in beauty and charm. Do not miss the Fraumünster church, with its magnificent stained glass windows by Marc Chagall. The Grossmünster cathedral was the starting point of the Protestant Reformation in German Switzerland. Further, push the bronze doors by Otto Münch to access the Museum of the Reformation, one of the 50 museums in Zürich. Nearby, wander among art works by Ferdinand Hodler, Segantini, Vallotton, Amiet, Giacometti and Augusto in the museum Kunsthaus Zürich.
The Angel Protector of Niki de Saint Phalle is worth seeing in the lobby of the central station. From there, walk up Bahnhofstrasse, an avenue lined with luxury shops that leads to Lake Zürich. A stop off at the Sprüngli confectionery is a must-do, in order to taste the iconic macaroons called "Luxemburgerli".
This former industrial area, nestled between the station and the Limmat River, now attracts a cosmopolitan population. For lovers of art and design, the myriad of design and fashion boutiques as well as art galleries in the district will enchant. Organic restaurants and alternative bars will seduce you. Finally, venture to the Prime Tower - a fascinating glass tower with an outstanding scenic view of the city from the top.
