A significant cultural heritage
The ibis Paris Tour Eiffel Cambronne 15e hotel is a great base if you don’t want to miss any of the sites around the Eiffel Tower. The landings of this iron tower offer unique views of the French capital. It was built in the late 19th century for the Exposition Universelle. The lawns of the Champs de Mars beneath its feet are good if you’re ready to take a break. From there, you can go onto Les Invalides, an icon of French military history which is also the location of Napoleon’s tomb. From the esplanades of Trocadéro and Palais de Chaillot, you can admire the Eiffel Tower on the other bank of the Seine. Go on a little further for the legendary chic destinations of the Champs-Élysées.
In the heart of Paris, the Louvre district has an exceptional historical and cultural heritage. It stretches from the Palais du Louvre to the Orangerie and Jeu de Paume in the Jardin des Tuileries and over to the Palais Royal. Its 35,000 artworks make the Louvre one of the world’s biggest museums. Go there to admire collections which date from antiquity all the way to the 19th century. Notre-Dame cathedral is not too far away on a spit of land where the Seine splits in two. It stands majestic on the city’s island. Its intricate façade is characteristically Gothic, and its gargoyles and square towers are globally famous. You can even climb to the top of its towers to admire the rooftops of Paris, or you might like to discover remains of ancient Paris in its recently unearthed crypt.
