We have satyed in this hotel previously, and all was good, as with this visit, except, the room we were allocated was on the first floor on the front of the building, close to the street, the sound insulation was almost absent so we could hear all of the traffic/pedestrian noise as if we were outside - even with the window closed. On our first night, a school icehockey team also had lodging in the hotel, and on the very same floor, This was evident as they returned from their day around midnight with no concept of the fact that this was actually a hotel, but again, the sound insulation was lacking; sleep was again possible around 3. The remainder of our soujourn there was as we have encountered before with pleasant capable staff at all times. The location for this hotel is ideal if you want to explore the centre, with their adequate secure car park tucked away off the road, good value for town centre parking. As with most IBIS visits, we declined breakfast, our tastes are for a slightly alternative menu, for a similar cost, but note that their pricing is becoming more competitive for what they provide. We will stay in the hotel again, it is ideal for our needs, but will ask for a room on the hjigher floors, which will be quieter I am sure. Note I have given this visit a 3 rating, if we had not had the icehockey team visiting our floor/bedroom I am sure it would have been a 4.
